The office of our outpatient department can be called at 030. 450 560 132. Please be prepared to be asked a number of questions, which are necessary if you are to be given a suitable appointment.
An appointment can also be made by sending a brief e mail enquiry to angela.licht@charite.de To make a suitable appointment, the following questions must be answered in the e mail.
You will be asked these questions on the telephone or you should answer them by e mail:
- Surname, first name and date of birth
- Full address with postcode
- Telephone number and mobile phone number, if necessary with details of when to contact you
- Time (month/year) of paralysis or speech disorders
- Diagnosis made previously
- Information about respiratory function; ideally information on vital capacity (VC) is helpful
- Information on any swallowing disorder or provision of PEG
Because of the need to answer these questions before an appointment is made, e mail enquiry is the preferred way in order to reduce questions on the telephone.
Alternatively it is possible to send us a postcard stating your concerns and giving a telephone number. You should give brief answers to the above questions. A detailed description is not necessary and can be reduced to a brief answer to the questions. Address your letter to our postal address:

An appointment is necessary for attending the outpatient clinic. We request your understanding for this rule as experience has shown that consultations are time consuming because of the disabilities of the patients and the extent of the consultation.
Exceptions to this rule can be made for patients who are already under the care of the department and who have a medical indication for an acute consultation. A brief telephone call to arrange this is advisable in this situation.
